What data we collect, why, for how long, who we share it with, and how you choose cookies.
Here we explain what data we collect when you use the site or become a guardian, why, for how long, and what rights you have.
1. Data controller

2. What data we process and why
«I want to become a guardian» form
First name, last name, email, telephone (optional), date and time, IP address and browser language. Purpose: to notify you when guardianships open, give you priority in your choice, write to you about the project, the trees and Olive Pact branded products. Legal basis: your consent, which you give by submitting the form and which you can withdraw at any time. Retention: until withdrawal, and in any case no later than 24 months from the last contact if you have not taken out a guardianship in the meantime.
Guardianship
Identification and contact details of the guardian and any gift recipient, payment details (managed by the payment service provider, who does not share the full card number with us), access to the reserved page. Purpose: to execute the guardianship pact, issue the certificate, manage the register, plaque and communications, and comply with tax and accounting obligations. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligations. Retention: for the duration of the guardianship and for the subsequent ten years required by tax obligations.
The emails we write to you may track openings and clicks to understand if the communications are of interest to you. You can object at any time.
Browsing, statistics and advertising
The site uses cookies and similar technologies, described in section 4. Technical cookies do not require consent. Statistical cookies (Google Analytics) and marketing cookies (Meta Pixel) are installed only if you accept them in the banner, and you can change your mind at any time via the «Cookie preferences» link at the bottom of every page.
3. Who we share data with
With suppliers who process data on our behalf as data processors: the server provider (in the European Union), the email sending service, the payment service provider, and, if you consent to the relevant cookies, Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Meta Pixel). Google and Meta may transfer data to the United States based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with others for their own purposes. Within the group, Babylon S.r.l. (owner of the grove) receives only the data necessary to identify the tree and the name to be placed on the plaque.
4. Cookies
A cookie is a small file that the site saves in your browser. We use three categories:
- Necessary. These are used for the site to function: remembering your cookie choice, accessing the reserved page for your tree, and protecting forms. They do not require consent. Duration: up to 12 months.
- Statistics (Google Analytics 4). These tell us how many people visit the site, from where, and which pages they read. IP addresses are processed in an abbreviated form. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd. Duration: up to 14 months. Only with your consent.
- Marketing (Meta Pixel). These allow Meta to measure the effectiveness of our adverts on Facebook and Instagram and to show you relevant ads. Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. Duration: up to 3 months. Only with your consent.
Upon your first visit, the banner allows you to accept all, reject all or choose by category; rejecting is as simple as accepting. Your choice is kept for 12 months; you can modify it at any time using the «Cookie preferences» link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings.
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent, without prejudice to processing already carried out. Write to us at the email address in the footer: we reply within 30 days. If you believe that processing violates the law, you can contact the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali - garanteprivacy.it) or the authority of your country.
6. Minors and updates
The site and guardianships are intended for adults. We may update this information notice: the currently active version is the one published here, with the date at the top.
